Before the books began
You may think that Balor, as we call our nearest star, is the center of the universe, but there are other stars beyond the worlds and moons we inhabit.
It is said that long ago, our ancestors came from another star in a fleet of Greatships. The mother world could carry them no longer, and they set out on a search for new worlds to conquer. First they came to Belva, and there they built cities and palaces. Then they reached out to the lesser worlds and moons and made them fit for life. Some were rich farm worlds, others barren and only fit for the exploitation of minerals. Then, the Greatships left, some say that the captains had become displeased with those who lived on Belva, others that they went in search of the mother world.
That was long ago, before the machine war and the time of misrule. Before the Royal family restored order, they and the clans of Dragon riders…

Sometimes the princess finds her handsome prince, but doesn't live happily ever after. With civil war brewing among the worlds of Balor, the Royal house of Belva is laying siege to the dragon rider’s world, and riders are putting their faith in a maverick for hire. Meanwhile further mysteries are unfolding, mysteries that run to the very heart of the power of the dragons and their riders.
The Fourth Day
With neither faction backing down, open war threatens to engulf the system. At the same time Riders and others are facing personal battles, battles that they may not be able to win. In the growing tension; rumours, myths and half-forgotten lore seem to combine, and it appears a day of prophesy is at hand.
